Early Childhood Educator Coursework

The academic phase of the early childhood educator coursework occurs in two summer and two mid-year seminars.

The major courses of study are:

  • Child Development
  • Child Psychology
  • Montessori Philosophy and Theory
  • Observation
  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial
  • Language
  • Mathematics
  • Cultural Studies
  • Art, Music and Movement
  • Classroom Leadership
  • Parent Education
  • Peace Education
  • Cosmic Education 
Learners are also expected to complete a Practicum phase during the school year.
• 9 months
• Minimum of 3 hours a day
•At least 60% of academic phase must be completed prior to the beginning of the practicum
• Supervised or self-directed
