- Rev. Cornelius Tilton
, ChairmanRev. Cornelius Tilton
Rev. Cornelius Tilton has been the Pastor of the Irish Channel Christian Fellowship since 1988. Cornelius has also worked as a professional computer, business and tax consultant and was the Manager of Community Affairs at Tulane University Hospital. He also worked as a real estate salesmen and broker for over 23 years. He is currently General President and an instructor in Leadership Development at Christian Bible College of Louisiana and was named to the recently formed Ethics Review Board of the City of New Orleans.
Cornelius is fluent in French and makes frequent trips with the Baptist Missions to West Africa where he works to develop healthcare infrastructure and establish local leadership programs. His past activities include President of the New Orleans area Habitat for Humanities, trustee of New Orleans General Hospital, President, Treasurer, and Interim Director of the New Orleans Mission, President of Dillard University Alumni Association-New Orleans Chapter, and Volunteer Administrator and In-Prison Seminar Instructor for Prison Fellowship Ministries, USA. He is also the current Treasurer and past Chairman of the Greater New Orleans Federation of Churches.
Cornelius’ children attended the New Orleans Public Schools and he is committed to improving New Orleans public education for the benefit of the cities youth.

Timothy Jackson, Vice ChairmanCarlos Luis Zervigón
(Chairman of the Board) is a graduate of the New Orleans Public Schools and Tulane University where he earned his high school teaching certification and a BA in History.
Carlos taught social studies at Benjamin Franklin High School for six years while earning his masters in history from UNO. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the NOCCA Institute for six years and has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the RosaMary Foundation since 1998.
Carlos is also a sculptor working primarily in glass. He has a BFA in Glass from Tulane University. His work has been shown in such cities as New Orleans, New York, Seattle, Portland, Oregon and Santa Fe. Carlos was a cofounder of the New Orleans Creative Glass Institute (NOCGI) and served as its President and CEO. For the last fifteen years, Carlos has been an active volunteer at Audubon serving on both the Admissions Committee and the Principal Search Committee. All six of Carlos’ children have attended or are attending Audubon Charter School.

Shawn Barney
is the President of CLB Porter, LLC New Orleans, a real estate development and institutional financial advisory firm specializing in public, private and non-profit partnerships. In this capacity, Shawn has worked with and advised such groups as the New Orleans Building Corporation, the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, and Providence Community Housing, an affiliate of Catholic Charities and the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Howard University, Washington, DC, where he was Student Body President. He has also served as a National Urban League Trustee and served on Mayor Ray Nagin’s Transition Committee for Canal Street Redevelopment.

Hon. Olivier Brochenin
is the French Consul General representing the French Government in the City of New Orleans. He has a strong commitment to the French Program at Audubon.
Mr. Brochenin is also an Audubon parent.

Yvonne (Teddi) Locke
(Vice Chair) has been a Montessori teacher and administrator for over thirty years and has served as President of the Louisiana Montessori Association. She has been the Director, Chairman of the Board and lead teacher at University Montessori School for twenty-eight years.
She received her Montessori certification from Association Montessori Internationale in 1973. She also has a BA in Social Science and is certified for Orff, Level 1. She also served on the board of the Chartwell School for Autistic Children for two years.
Her son, Kaylen Eckert, attended Audubon Montessori School when it first opened as Howard Montessori. He attended Audubon through sixth grade. Teddi joined Audubon’s board as a strong advocate for public, Montessori education, seeing Audubon’s potential, as a charter school, to now become a leader in this area.

Robert D. Sloan
Since April, 2003, Robert Sloan has been Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Entergy Corporation (an integrated energy company headquartered in New Orleans).
Prior to joining Entergy, Mr. Sloan was Vice President and General Counsel of GE Industrial Systems, a worldwide industrial and electrical products company, headquartered in Plainsville, Connecticut. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Sloan was managing partner of the McKenna Long Aldridge office in Brussels, Belgium where he specialized in international transactions, EU environment activities and international arbitrations. Prior to practicing law in Washington, DC, from 1984-87, Mr. Sloan headed the Sovereign Credit Management Division at the First National Bank of Chicago, where he supervised the restructuring and refinancing developing country debt.
Mr. Sloan has also served (1) as General Counsel to the Multinational Force and Observers, the international peacekeeping force between Egypt and Israel under the 1979 Camp David Accords (1981-84); (2) in the Legal Advisers Office of the Department of State in the area of nuclear non-proliferation and later economic and military assistance (1977-81); and (3) as General Counsel to the Minority of the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (1973-77).
Mr. Sloan holds a BA degree from the University of Michigan (1969) and a law degree from Harvard Law School (1972). His wife, Dauphine, is a professor of French and International Development at Tulane University. Their children, Alexandra (24), Caroline (23), and Edward (20) have attended primarily public schools in various cities in the United States and abroad.

The board consists of no less that 3 and no more than 15 members. Members are elected to the board for renewable one-year terms by a majority of the board. Two members are elected by the Audubon parents (one from the French program, one from the Montessori) by a majority of the parents in an election supervised by the Friends of Audubon PTO.
The French Consul General of New Orleans is an automatic member of the board. The rest of the board seats are occupied by community members.
