Kenneth J. Ducote, Ph.D., AICP is certified as a School Superintendent, Supervisor of Instruction, Principal, Mathematics Teacher and Social Studies Teacher by the Louisiana Department of Education and was the director of Facility Planning and Development for the New Orleans Public Schools from 1988 to 2003. He also holds a certification in Urban Planning from the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has published and presented papers in the United States, France and Turkey. Ken has served as President of the International Society for Educational Planning and Vice-President of the Louisiana School Plant Management Association. He has also served on the Editorial Review Board of the Educational Planning Journal and has served as a Project Advisor to the United States General Accounting Office. Ken’s honors and awards include National School Plant Manager of the Year from the National School Plant Management Association, the Cornerstone Award from the Council of Educational Facility Planners International, the Keller Award for Excellence in Government form the Bureau of Governmental Research, and the Certificate of Recognition for Exemplary Local School District Planning from the International Society for Educational Planning. As a classroom teacher, he was awarded Citywide Teacher of the Year by the Orleans PTA in 1979. Ken has also been very active in the New Orleans community serving on many boards, council, and committees. With his service to Audubon Charter School, Ken continues his commitment to quality public education in New Orleans. |
