Yvonne (Teddi) Locke has been a Montessori teacher and administrator for over thirty years and is currently the President of the Louisiana Montessori Association. She has been the Director, Chairman of the Board and lead teacher at University Montessori
School for twenty-eight years.

She received her Montessori certification form Association Montessori Internationale in 1973. She also has a BA in Social Science and is certified for Orff, Level 1.

She also served on the board of the Chartwell School for Autistic Children for two years. Her son, Kaylen Eckert, attended Audubon Montessori School when it first opened as Howard Montessori. He attended Audubon through sixth grade. Teddi joined Audubon’s board as a strong advocate for public, Montessori education, seeing Audubon’s potential, as a charter school, to now become a leader in this area.
