The annual fund will kick off this fall and our goal is 100% school participation!
The following are a few commonly asked questions about annual giving and the role you and your family can play in ensuring Audubon's excellence.
Why does Audubon charter school request annual fund gifts?
Audubon Charter School receives MFP (Mininum Foundation Program) funding through local and state sources. Funds are give to the school on a per student basis. Because these funds to not cover all the essential operating needs of our advance Montessori & French curricula, including additional teacher and teaching assistant salaries, the school depends on the generosity of our families. This year, there is a gap of almost $75,000 (approximately $125 per family) between what it costs to educate our students and the revenue that Audubon receives from MFP Funding. Therefore, we ask each family to make an Annual Fund gift to help bridge the "gap."
What will my annual fund gift be used for?
Audubon's test scores are rising, and the school just received an A+ on it's School Performance Score. Resources that help our students achieve this level of success include additional teachers and the presence of a teaching assistant in many of the classes. The State and local governments provide minimal funding that does not fully cover this cot. Therefore, Audubon relise on our families' generous support for the Annual Fund to help the school afford the expense of these additional teachers and teaching assistants, who are essential to increaseing our students' academic achievement.
How much should I donate? Please donate as generously as you can. We encourage gifts of $125 per student (the "gap") ore more. However, gifts of any amount are welcome, and every gift is meaninful. Our goal is 100% family participation. Before foundations give money to the school, they often want to know if we have the support of our own families. Past gifts have ranged from $5 to $5,000.
How can I make a gift? The easiest way to make a gift is online at www.auduboncharter.com/support/donate.html. Click on "Make a donation today!" Gifts are tax deductible, and can be paid by credit card, check or in cash. Gifts can also be paid in monthly installments.
When is my gift due?Although gifts can be made through May 31, 2011, we encourage donations by December 31, 2011.
Does Audubon accept matching gifts? Audubon Charter School gratefully accepts company matching gifts, which are an easy way to double or triple your gift to the school. Please ask your employer for details on their matching gift programs.
